That Dog Don't Bark by Aaron D McClelland is an exciting novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The novel follows Angel and Jackie, who run into each other years later, after both being in the same foster home as kids. Now as teens, and small-time crooks, their regained friendship blossoms into love. They both get more than they bargained for when they witness a gang of sex-traffickers loading teen girls and drugs into a shipping container. Wanting to help and save a friend who is caught up with the same gang, they seek out help from the cops, reporters and even the local mob. The cops are crooked, and the reporter needs more evidence. With no help and nowhere else to turn, Angel and Jackie decide take matters into their own hands to save Angel's friend and the other girls.
This was the first novel I read from the author and I am happy to say it won't be my last. The novel is fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed following Angel and Jackie's love story. Regardless of the crime and violence in the story, I thought their love story shined through.
I would give this novel 5 out of 5 stars. The novel is gripping and to be honest, if you are intrigued by the story of Bonny & Clyde, this one is for you!
