Through His Eyes: A Short Story by Ruchira Khanna was a short but enjoyable read.
The story follows Meera who takes readers through her childhood to adult life appreciating her “helpers” for being parental figures in her life. She introduces us to Dada, her driver growing up, who tells her all she needs to know without speaking a word. Meera narrates that through the years, she grew appreciative of their special bond & guidance Dada has lent her with just his eyes. Now older, she is bringing her new boyfriend home, and she anxiously awaits what Dada’s eyes have to say about him.
I would give this charming short story 5 out of 5 stars. I must praise the author for being so descriptive in such a small story. While reading, I could feel how deeply appreciative Meera felt about her “helpers”. “Through His Eyes” is a sweet story with an original plot.
