It was you: Lilys Story by Nora Edington is a beautifully written and captivating first book, in what i'm assuming will be a new series by this talented author.
this is not my first read from nora and it will never be my last. lily has a drunken one night stand after a horrible break up. she figures what can go wrong? blow some steam off with a sexy stranger and never speak to him again. well...things don't go according to plan as she winds up pregnant. years later, and a single mother, she meets jake. Their world wind romance of sexy times, ex lovers and secrets, takes the reader on a roller coaster of emotions and delight!
I liked lily and jake together and i loved how the author made me root for them. there is nothing worse than 2 characters in a romance novel that you don't really care if they end up together. this is not one of those books. the steam is this novel is light compared to some I've read, but as a romance author/reader, this story is a perfect blend of heat, thrills, and cutesy romance. I'm not usually a fan of the pregnancy trope, but the way nora writers her characters, always captivates me. I'm interested to learn more about them, and that proves how well the author can tell a story.
The only thing I'd say that through me off while reading, was the time jumps. they were mostly in the beginning of the novel, so no biggie. it's definitely not something that made me not want to continue reading.
Overall I would give this story 4 out of 5 stars. if you want a romance book that touches on all the best parts of a romance story then this is the novel for you!
